What we collect, what we do not, and who else is involved when you run a test.
The test is provided by OpenSpeedtest, a third party. When you run it, your browser connects to their servers, which necessarily see your IP address, approximate location and connection details for the duration of the test. Their handling of that data is covered by the OpenSpeedtest privacy policy. We do not receive your individual test results.
Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit) and anonymised analytics used to understand which pages are useful. If you email us, we keep the correspondence to reply to you. We do not sell personal information.
This site may set cookies for analytics and, where present, advertising. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting the speed test.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Contact hello@internetspeedtests.co.za.
This policy was last updated in September 2026 and may change as the site changes.
